Which one?--Cummins 5.9 or 6.7?

Does anyone have a strong opinion one way or the other of which is best, the old tried and true Cummins 5.9 diesel with a 4-speed auto trans or the newer 6.7 with the 6-speed auto?

If I were you, go for the 5.9...better mileage, NO particulate filter traps and tried and true engineering! It is supposed to be cheaper than the 6.7 since it doesnt have all the "extras" IMHO!!!

A 5.9 auto with some "enhancements" would be the ticket.

I like the 5.9. But they are becoming scarce, and I'd have no issues at all buying a new 6.7.

Having been a Ford guy most of my life, I wish I could say the same about their new 6.4...
