Hi im new to dtr and i just wanted to ask if any of yall had any recomendations im lookin for a truck with the cummins is there any specific dodge model that stands out reliabilty wise I know ill be lookin for the 5.9 with a manual gear box and 4x4 if that helps narrow it down some. I'm lookin for a used truck in good condition mostly for around town just somethin that'll save wear and tear on my other truck and somethin that i wont feel bad drivin into the ground. I hear cummins is pretty good as far as economy goes and that they last but my previous experence with cummins and dodge was awful and I swore i'd never go back and much as it kill me to do so im lookin for another cummins for economy i use my other truck for towing and hauling so im lookin for a sort of backup and second truck. Any thoughts?

 

My vote is for a 2nd gen 12v , 94 - 98 1/2 , I would not buy a 24v , unless I had the time & money to P pump it .

It all depends on what you want out of the truck. Work on it easy for HP or flip a **** and get HP. I like the 12v because of the lack of the electronics, but like the adjustability of the 24v.

But you cant beat a p-pumped 24v!
