General Diesel Discussion Talk about general diesel engines (theory, etc.) If it's about diesel, and it doesn't fit anywhere else, then put it right in here.

Hello, my name is Russ and I am an ex-power stroke owner

I just purchased a 1999 (is that actually a 1998.5) 3500 4x4 DRW Automatic club cab long bed truck with 34K miles on it. I also got a service contact from chrysler for 3 years or 45000 miles. That was an extra 1500 bucks.

The truck is bone stock except for a front leveling lift that is going on it today.

I plan to use the truck for pulling a Toy Hauler around norther california to camp and ride dirt bikes with my girl friend and our three dogs, and just for driving around in and loving it. Our toy hauler is about 10k lbs and we pull some monster grades, so we are going to get our monies worth out of tis dodge.

I will be looking to make a few modifications, but have to keep her pretty stock for the service contract to stay valid. I plan on putting on a 4 inch exhaust, and a nice intake. I'd like to get a computer, but do not want to blow my chances at warranty work.

I am going to start out by adding fuel pressure, EGT, boost, tranny and rear end temp guages, nad maybe replacing the roof top marker lights with some clear lenses and blue LED lights.

nice to meet you all,
WR

Sounds like a good plan. Only thing is, blue leds up top are most likely illegal in your state. Texas anyway you cant have any blue lights, or red facing forward.

Welcome Russ.

I recommend waiting until the service contract expires before doing any mods. Just my $0.02 worth.
