Washington Post has an article on road testing the new Jeep Liberty Sport with the 4 cyl diesel.

QUICK SPECS
2.8 Liter
160hp @ 3800 rpm
295tq @ 1800 rpm
26mpg on test drive (driving mostly highway)
20 gallon tank
$25,345 as tested (incl $1,240 diesel option)
The engine is made by Italy's VM Motori, a company partly owned by Detroit Diesel, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Germany's DaimlerChrysler AG.
Tester liked the peppy acceleration, said it felt more like a V-8.
Only fault he could find was "Noisy on cold start, quiets down after it's warm"

The washington post won't recognize my email address I have heard about this and I am definitely going to buy one for the Wife. Do you know when they are going into production. I will have to bomb it while she is sleeping or I'll just tell her I'm changing the oil don't worry
