My truck vs new 2012 Ram 2500
My truck vs new 2012 Ram 2500
I am looking at 'downsizing' and getting away from diesel. I'm looking at the new 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 with the 5.7L V8 Hemi.
I only tow in the summer and haul a 'heavy' load in the box once a year. I love my truck and of course it looks awesome but am thinking it's time and the price of diesel right now is Edit me off. I still want a good payload and towing weight as I don't want to restrict what I can haul or tow in the future.
Any thoughts and any reviews/info for the 2500, can't find much on it.
See signature for my current truck.
Thanks!

I just went the same route. My 2012 Power Wagon gets picked up Monday. I'm trading my 2010 CTD in on it. Gas is cheaper and the PW will meet my off road needs much better. Plus the 12' 2500 with Hemi comes with new 6-speed 66RFE trans. Same as the diesel but with differ TC. In my opinion if you are going to get a hemi 2500 spend the little extra cash and pick up the Power Wagon.
^^^^ I agree and second the Power Wagon. If you're not goona diesel, then that is the most versatile 3/4 ton out there.
If not for the Power Wagon version, then the Chevy 6.2 is an attractive option. Ok flame suit on.

You could check out the dodgetalk forums. They're geared more toward the Hemi trucks, although it seems to be mostly the 1500's.
Also, the power wagon might be great for off-roading, but the softer springs hurt payload and towing capacities(a little). It's too bad they don't offer the 4.56 ratio in the non-power wagon trucks.
jeff.

F150....what can I say, interior/exterior design sucks!! Besides they're more designed for older folks/young women.
Besides, who the heck wants a truck, wait excuse me, a pickup with a console shifter?
