MTV's pimp my ride, Impala with a 800hp Duramax Diesel...lol
Yeah its low, the energy conversion ratio in ehtanol production is about 1.6 to 1 but some say that when the entire ag chain of corn production is taken into consideration it is actually lower than 1:1. Brazilian Sugar cane ethanol is probably 3.5:1 but the U.S. has a 53 cent tariff per gallon on it. Other forms of ethanol production like switchgrass will probably replace it soon. Biodiesel is the same, there are lots of methods to consider in its production.
You've got that right. There are alot of people that when they open this website they close their minds. When anyone mentions any other brand other than cummins they stick their fingers in their ears and go "la la la la la I can't hear you la la la" Personally I'd think it would be hard living with your head in the sand.

. Maybe he'll get an urban camo paint scheme!Anyways, I bet they didn't put a cage in that car. When somebody gets the brilliant idea to put slicks on it and take it to the strip I hope they put the video on youtube because I can't wait to see the D-Max twist that thing in half.
dual cp3's, built allison (gives a new meaning to "the transmission tunnel is in the way"), GT40r turbo, PPE tuning.
Other than that the car is bone stock.
I just hope its not an LB7 engine... if so, it won't make it to the end of the 1-hour episode without an engine failure...
As for bio... I think the only reason anybody in Texas is complaining about it might because we are in the heart of the petrolium industry.. We don't want ANYTHING interfering with our oil prices!!.

As "pimped" rides go, I thought this one was pretty cool. Seems like a bit of a stretch trying to pass off an 800hp barge like the Impala as being anything close to eco-friendly though. The seat fabric made from hemp was a rather interesting touch.
Yeah that was pretty cool, but they spent more time on the 5 TV screens which all displayed the same thing in the trunk of the car than they did on what was done to the engine/tranny/drivetrain lol.
I just got done watching this episode since i missed it the first time it aired.
That was definately the cleanest car that shop has ever built. Nothing over the top, nothing goddy, no gangster theme, nothing. Just a clean car with clean lines and a clean paint job on it with a very impressive engine. There was very little smoke at the drag strip with that setup as well. I'm very impressed with it. Now, here's the kicker. Did they tell the owner to let the turbo cool down before he shuts it off, did they put new gauges in there to monitor stuff, did they put a sticker somewhere saying diesel fuel only? All of us might know how to make an 800hp truck survive but some random rookie doesn't. Not to mention I hope they gave him a box to turn the power down cause I'd hate to drive an 800hp monster like that in the rain. Heck driving mine in the rain is interesting enough as it is. I can't imagine double the power in something that light weight with street tires on it.
