Exclamation Massachusetts Bill to Ban the Sale/Installation of Aftermarket Exhaust Systems

I got this email from SEMA, anybody from Mass may want to read this info

from artical:

A bill (H.B. 3574) to ban the sale or installation of “an exhaust system which has been modified in a manner which will amplify or increase the noise emitted by the exhaust” was reintroduced by Rep. Liz Malia and several cosponsors (list below) and will be considered by the Massachusetts Joint Transportation Committee on October 2nd. The bill excludes limited-use “antique motor cars” from its scope - a clear attempt by the bill’s sponsors to divide the automobile hobby in an effort to gain clearer sailing for this restrictive and damaging piece of legislation.

Sad thing is we will be punished and deprived of our sweet sweet sounding I6, while they are probably just after the fart packers.

No that my friends is New England for you and there is one good thing that comes out of MASS its called I-95

they do things different up there anyways so dont think that will happen up there and spread because straight pipes have always been illegal inVA on big trucks but not in NC and now they dont really bother you all that much unless you show off too much or jake brake alot. for some reason that ticks alot of people off.

This started in California first, believe me the turds in charge in this state could not of thought this up on their own. ANYTHING that has ANYTHING to do with the enviroment is adopted here from over there.

You should change your reply too; I thought.

I guess only having the best hospitals and medical research on the planet does not count for anything?

Please dont sweep this under the AP.net site. This is one that isnt just Bush this or that stuff. I didnt know Mass. had medical research that was "all that" so to speak. Being from San Antonio, lots of medical research and hospitals, we dont hear much of it from the rest of the US.

P.S. I would love it if they would put a law out about fart packs, man I hate em. If it sounded good I wouldnt mind, but they sound like a duck fart underwater while being beat with a club.

I appreciate the heads up on the bill, but as others have stated it will most likely not pass. No slander was meant toward anyone in my comment, I do however agree with part of all the posts, nuff said.

To stay on topic, it is the fart cannons they are after, the state is issueing bulletins to all inspection stations about "altered exhaust systems", so it is already begun .

they need to enforce by size of pipe to engine size.if it has a cummins then it can have up to a 6 inch pipe, but if it's a 1.5 litre ricer then anything over 1 1/2 would be illegal
