Why not use two-stroke outboard motor oil - it is formulated for combustion chamber service.

Cheaper, ain't red, and burns clean - what more could you ask?

16oz\35gal tank

Try it - you'll like it..............

Marvel is not the best since it thins the diesel even more. If you read the MSDS for it, its mostly solvents and naptha (lighter fluid) i realy dont want my diesel even thinner than it is.

I put 8 oz. MMO every fill up. It's an excellent lubricant. Tried same amount of 2-cycle oil, but it seemed to smoke a little more when leaning on it.

I use Marvel in my gas engines (lawnmower, motorcycle, '41 Plymouth) once in a while just to clean them out. The stuff works GREAT for loosening tight engine parts. I had a 1976 Honda motorcycle that hadn't been run in 20 years and poured about 2oz of MMO into the chamber and it fired right up after the fuel was cleaned. Now I would never use MMO in a diesel engine. I'll stick with Power Service or Red Line Lubricants diesel additives for the Cummins...

Wally World has a TCW3(Asheless 2-stroke oil) for about 8 bux/gallon. I put about a quart to 35 gallons. That's still only about 140:1 ratio

Two-stroke oil comes in the little cans for weed-eaters, also quarts and gallons - walton's is a good source, any auto parts emporium.

You don't need any detergents, varnish-removers, lifter cleaners, spark-plug cleaners, etc - just an ashless lubricant for the Inj Pump that will combust easily.

I read where some of the members are using acetone in their diesel, I would sure think that would be more of a hazard from thinning the diesel than MMO.

I doubt that a bottle of Marvel will show up in 30 gallons of diesel. Maybe I am wrong.
