Loud pipes

Wondering how many of yall have been pulled over for your truck being to loud. I had mine straight piped until a few months ago. DPS pulled me over twice ,but no ticket just a warning. At inspection time i put a muffler back on so i didnt have to deal with it. Really makes me ****** when i hear all these Harleys running around straight piped and there not getting stopped.

I got pulled over for doin a cali stop a few months ago. The cop was rather impressed with the sound of the pipe, We got into a 10 min. conversation about bombing. But he still gave me a ticket

I know that down in my neck of the woods CHP is starting to really crack down on Harleys with exhaust mods.

YEah my biggest complaint was the last time i was stopped i was helping someone when i was pulled over. Some guy in a F-250 lost a rear wheel after leaving Walmart for new tires. Wheel came off and was down the Interstate 3/4 mile i stopped to pick it up and take it back when DPS pulled me over . Asked what i was doing and (by the way) your truck is to loud. Im going to write you a ticket stay right there. I unloaded the greasy wheel-tire and he asked what i was doing. (as it started to rain) I said you write me a ticket and you will have to haul the wheel back to the guy yourself. He said go on and get that exhaust tuned down.. ing i took the guys wheel back.

Pretty cool that he let you go.

Around here a guy stopped to pull someone out that lost control in the snow, he got a illegal parking ticket for like $300... One of the local 4x4 clubs heard about it, and paid it for him.

its gotten me pulled over, but never a ticket. it just gives the cops in my town a reason to search the kid with his hat backward in the big white dodge with the stereo way too loud. got a ticket for no license plate lights in my toyota one night while i was pushing the 80 year old mans car into the gas station in the rain...just cant win sometimes.

Been pulled over a couple of times (county mounty and local cops) for exceeding the limit.... cops never said a word about the pipe or the noise is was making. Took my truck in for the req'd safety inspection when it came time to renew my tags. It passed without any problems with the straight pipe on it. I was kinda funny though, because there were several other mechanics and service writers in the garage talking when they pulled my truck in. Everyone stopped talking, turned around and just looked at my truck until the mechanic shut it off. Then they turned back around and conitnued their conversations.

Ive been pulled over before

ticketed too. Its considered exhibition around here, SMoke, loud sound systems, straight pipes, and burnout used to be a 75 dollar fine last year. I was ticketed last year for the loud pipes...

Never been pulled over for the straight pipe, but have been pulled over as such from the Buckeye Police. They really are jerks out here:

Eating and Driving ( The cops seem to want to ticket you for anything in this town)
Temporary license plate on wrong side of window ( Cops also wanted to search my truck)
Thought Truck was stolen because Temporary license plate wasnt visible ( It was in the middle of a big clear window)
Thought I was smoking weed ( wasnt, dont do that stuff, my friend set off a popper in the truck)
Stereo Too Loud ( This was when it was stock?????!!)
Intention to Riot at the Local Sonic Drive in ( Apparently we have to have permits to park in the drive in and eat....)
Not making a full 5 second stop at a stop sign

I think they feel they need to pull you over for anything that they feel they have justified. It really is ridiculous. BUt hey, they feel they have the right.

I did get a compliment on my truck the night of my speeding ticket though....^.^......

Just amazes me that we'd get pulled over but I've never once seen an uncorked Harley pulled over or heard of them getting ticketed and some of them are way louder than our trucks.
