Looking for a good shop in/around Long Beach

Hey Guys,

I'm new to diesel trucks... just made a deposit on an '04 Dodge Ram 2500 cummins. Purchasing the truck is contingent on it checking up clean at a shop... the only issue is I'm in the SF bay area, and the truck is down in Long Beach.

Does anyone know a reputable shop that I can have the truck taken to and get a pre-purchase inspection done? I want a really complete one... I've taken cars to places before and paid $200 for the inspection only to get "yeah, it's good" as my feedback. Not acceptable. I'm assuming you guys know what's what and can help me out!

Thanks,

-Kevin-

I was very impressed with the diesel mechanic at Glen E. Thomas Dodge in Signal Hill when I needed warranty work done when passing though Calif.
Problem is that was 15 years ago, no doubt that mechanic has moved on by now.
Most dealership mechanics don't know squat about diesels.
