Question Looking for a Diesel vehical for my wife .

Well after having my CTD for a while I've relized the diffrences in a gasser and a diesel. I looking to buy my wife a diesel family vehical a suv or car it must be 4X4 no cummins in these options yet or it would be a no brainer . Diesel fuel is 45 cent per gallon cheaper than gas here in ohio. So thats another plus.I would like to stay under $15,000 shes a house wife so it wont hardly get any miles on it. She dont want a truck she says she cant see out of it. So what options do I have. Even If 05 model dodge suvs have a cummins Id imagine the price to be a bit steep for something that dont hardly get driven. are there any other brand of diesels that have cummins quallity????Last but most importantly no fords at all I will most likely never own one I dont think they even offer a small diesel but I had to put it in there anyway. MY choises will probly be all IMPORTS but oh' well. end transmission

The new liberty will have a small diesel. But price may be to high. Maybe a stripper model will be cheap enough. There is some info in these forums do a search to read about it. or do a google search for the libery web site ..

It's noT 4X4 but the diesels that volkwagen puts in their cars are pretty nice. We have a 2001 Jetta with 80 K and it's still getting 42-47 Mpg. You can get a new one for 20K so you should be able to get a used one for under 15k pretty easy.

Vws that have 4-motion are kind of 4 wheel drive but hard to find especially TDI turbo diesel injection
good luck if she does so little driving I don't think gas will be that much difference because of the cost for a diesel engine, I always wanted to do a dodge durango with cummins conv. but you would have to really build up the suspension

I second jaconst--

Do the math. If she drives very little, there is no point in buying something that will probably never pay for itself.

Our original choice was a toyota 4 runner . I personally love toyotas after I put mine under water for 8 hrs and it was fine even with 276,000 miles on it then I sold it for $1000 MORE THAN I PAID FOR IT .That made me a beleaver , but I out growed it and after owning my CTD 3/4 ton when I jump into a yoda its like sitting in a empty box from a big sceen tv and its powered with AAA batterys. The full size yodas are not an option for me I can honesty say my CTD has ruined me for life. I drive my friends full size gassers and they feel like turds to me. Maybee its the cummins I like so much and not the fact its a diesel Im not sure ,but I drive a PSD once in a while and its just not the same it might be the ford thing tho. So my wife dont like cars and she cant drive a truck so an suv looks like its the only choice. A jeep cherokee is my only real crystler choice , then again if it might just be the cummins I like so much and the dodge is just along for the ride. I know I like yoda and I know I like CTD so may be I should put A CTD in a yoda. now thats trany troubles waitin to happen.imagine the smokin dual stacks. The older yodas had a diesel option Im not sure who made the motor but I think it was only in them for a couple years I've only seen 1 yoda diesel and it was 2X4. Any way back to the point Is there any 4x4 suvs with diesel motor thats under $15000 ?????? If not Ill get a 4 runner she has a rav-4 now ,but my sons getting bigger so she wants a bigger vehical.I told her I'd jack it up for her , but that didnt work so it a 4 runner all the way unless theres a older diesel 4x4 suv model out there .

The 94-? "Chebby" Tahoe 2 door had the 6.5L in them. One is currently listed on ebay here in St. Louis for $8995 (?). Maybe to big from your descriptions though.

If you're gonna go 4x4 diesel, don't go with the chebby 6.5... What a pile.

those guys import european diesel vehicles such as deisel 4runners

here's a more specific link

http://www.mustang.bc.ca/lc.htm

check the link below for info on toyota diesel conversions

4runners never came with the diesels over here but the pickups did from 84-87, my dad has a 2wd xtracab with 480,000km on it right now ............... runs like a top

or you can get a deisel toyota landcruiser ........ my dad had a 79 ......800,000km when he shut her down due to rust

Probably going to be something like this. 28hp Kubota diesel.

62" or 72" deck

None of the large walk behinds have diesels that I can think of.
