Others will correct me if I'm wrong but I think I have read where you can put 315s on without doing a lift on a Dodge.

I personnally don't like lifts but if what I said above is true then that could also be a factor to save you money on a lift.

I was making this decision not long ago. I have a buddy with a Ford PS and I drove it some. I really liked it but the fuel economy is considerably less then Dodge Cummins. I drove a Chevy and I liked it but I didnt get to drive one alot so I decided to choose between a Ford or a Dodge. I decided to go with Dodge mostly because of the fuel economy and I am also a big inline 6 cylinder fan(I drove a Ford with a inline 300 - 6 cylinder for years...lotsa torque but nothing compared to a Cummins). I was looking for a used one and thought I wanted a 1st generation because I liked the body style more. Ironically around here they go for considerably more then 2nd gens. I found a 2nd gen for what I consider a steal and I was concerned about the high miles(229000 when bought) and actually got the guy to knock off $1000 just for the miles. I'm glad I decided to get the 12 valve engine. From what I have read on here it seems to be a fairly easy engine to do mods to and work on in general. This truck is very tight for the mileage and the engine performs effortlessy. Like I said in my first post.....I wish I had bought one of these 10 years ago.

most people have to put on just a leveling kit so the front tires don't rub when turning, but other wise, yes you're right.
