A little fun this morning!!
One of my law enforcement buds nexteled me that he was right behind me on the highway this morning at around 6 am. Long story short got a free escort for about 10 miles . Got it up to 110 mph. When we stopped he was amazed my truck kept up to his cruiser. Got to be a kid again

LUCKYYYYYYY!!!
I have had mine up to 115, and i figured I new she would still climb a lil more with the pedal I had left. Open straight road, in the middle of the swamp land in Waycross. No one lives within a 20 mile radius of there.

with roughly 400hp and 33" tires in a 6spd with 3.54 gears i was able to reach the speed limiter at 117 mph on the speedo...but considering it is off dramtically due to tire size i knew i was going faster...so i looked it
if the original tires were about 29-30" and my new tires are 33" then at 117mph on the speedo i was going roughly 132 mph...thats fast for a 7600lbs truck...
of course this was on a closed course with a professional driver

I thought my truck would top out at 90 mph too,but seeing is believing. It was around 4 degrees out, truck was warmed up,but the heat really kicked on after a minute at that speed.

Thats really fun. I wish it was like that around here. The buckeye cops are total pigs, they go after all the teens ( I was stopped once for eating and driving, since I didnt have both hands ont eh wheel) They really are idiots. But the I-10 around here makes for a fun stretch. With the VA in my truck I got it to about 110 and then usually slow down just because I dont have gauges and dont want any trouble. But it if fun racin the rice!

Hi, HappyGA,
I'm surprised to see "Waycross" mentioned.
Why that name? The town was originally named Tebeauville and the county seat was in another small town near here called Waresboro. Just like in an old western, the folks got together and STOLE THE COURTHOUSE, lock, stock, barrel, and documentation, and decamped to Tebeauville. Then they decided that in Ware county, GA, it was just too much to have the despoiled Waresboro named "Wares-boro," so they needed a spiffy new name of their own to celebrate their having physically and successfully obtained the county seat. It was pointed out by somebody that if a fellow wanted to go north, east, south, or west and was in this area, he'd have to go through here if he were on this side of the swamp.
Thus it was born - Waycross - the town named simply because a bunch of roads (and train tracks) have to come together here to avoid the eastern portion of the Okefeenokee Swamp.
Sorry for the local lore, folks, but that road HappyGA's talking about is the one and only US 1! (Or if I miss my guess, he was going to Lakeland, which really might not have anybody living within twenty miles. Of course, that's the OTHER side of the Swamp.) And to other folks, Waresboro is pronounced "waz-bro" by the locals.
Gee, there are three members here!
