I've noticed that I've been putting off all kinds of piddly little crap that I need to fix on my truck. It's starting to feel like an old beater.

To wit:

-- the sunglass holder in the overhead has a broken latch and falls down.
-- the driver's "door closed" contact switch broke off (block of wood was bad idea). Truck thinks door is always open and the key chimes when engine isn't running.
-- still have a fist-sized dent in the rear quarter panel from Dec 2002
-- interior is filthy and lots of oily grease spots on the carpet and upholstery-- needs cleaning.
-- fuel seeps from somewhere, and I can't find the leak (no drips) but the front diff is always damp.
-- boost guage line seems to have a small crack in it that I can't find.
-- Fuel guage doesn't work. Sender went out two years ago and I haven't yet replaced the module.


Gee, I've really let this thing go to pot. Poor truck!

Hmmm

I need to clean the inside of the truck, repair the aftermath of some weak paint on the lower rear quarter behind the wheel, replace the stock stereo, and clean the rad again.

The rad is an ongoing thing, the stock stereo is getting weak, and the interior has work truck written all over it. Not greasy etc, just cluttered up.

 

My CD changer is jammed.

And I need to clean the clutter from the inside and get all the roadsalt off the undercarriage and engine compartment. Looks like someone dusted my engine with baby powder.....

 

Well lets see...


- Get the aftermarket steering stabalizer put on(driving with out one currently)
- Fix drivers side factory fog light
- Mount two smaller fog lights(wiring is done already)
- Mount stacks using the brackets I bought from peterbilt
- Mount gauge pod for the Adrenaline Beta
- Clean up all the wires running through my truck
- Clean interior, its filthy in there
- Mount tool box to keep chains and other misc. tow/pull equipment in
- Figure out why my electric rear slider only goes 2 inches then stops sliding
- Address rusting doors...



I'm sure I'm missing something... but thats the most of it.

 

Change all the fluids in the spring
Get all of the volunteer project dirt out of the inside
Rotate all six tires
Get all of the volunteer project dirt out of the inside
Check brake wear (180,000 miles on original everything)
Get all of the volunteer project dirt out of the inside
Did I mention it needs a good cleaning inside?

 

-change front brakes this weekend
-inside needs cleaning
-dash cover for grand canyon cracked dash
-ball joints seem to be goin out
-put new tires on before new year hopefully
-right fender messed up real bad from millers and a tree
-replace front drive shaft cv joint(drive shaft is out now, only 2wd)
other than that, she's fine!!!lol

 

Repaint tailgate from old (gone) topper rubbing paint off.
Hopefully repaint entire truck in the spring.
Flush power steering.
Put new custom grill on truck (when temps get above 30 or so).
General maintenance.
My list is pretty short, but I'm always out in the garage crawling around the vehicles.

No really,

Interior lights come on and off as they please
Passenger side speaker doesnt work
4wd light in dash doesnt come on anymore
Parking brake sticks
Carrier bearing in rear end or u-joint, one of them is bad

There is a bunch more, but i'll start swearing if I get into it.

Oh, and its an 06 with just over 40K on the ticker

 

1. Need to replace the tailgate after dropping the 5ver on it.
2. Need to replace liftpump with Airdog 100 Fuel System before I get left on the side of the road.
3. Install new T/C V/B from Goerends
4. Install Flex Plate from BD
5. Change fluids in the front and rear diffs
6. Reinstall the Cummins engine cover plate. Why I took it off dunno?

 

headliner needs fixed
install driving lights in foglight holes
get new front grill(peeled chrome)
new door speakers

 

Oops ... ahhh...

- Rust developing under doors (any good fixes?)
- Headliner starting it's descent.
- Overhead console light switch is out.
- major interior clean-out
- passanger's side speaker cuts in/out.
- Oil pressure sender unit now in question - verified with real gauge.
- couple dings & dents, which prove it's still really a truck!

 

Install recon cab lights
Fix/paint two dents in bed
Replace cracked tail light
Replace oil pressure sender

 

Hummmm... were to start
Put engine back together,
Put engine in,then put the trans. in
Put twin turbos on.
Find the hood..... Ex got mad?? Got the one from her truck its better
Replace rear drive shaft.
And that sums it up so far .... well all the little things to get it running agan

 

You guys are head and shoulders ahead of me with my truck... dont even have one...
