A lesson in purchasing Parts for your trucks

Here is the typical example of getting different "pricing levels" on the EXACT SAME part from different vendors. It can be used as a guide in buying anything. Do your homework, get the manufacturer part number then shop for total price delivered.

(A recent trend is for local companies to add a shipping charge for ordered parts (to protect their full retail markup). This is meeting lots of resistance and negative feedback to the manufacturers, because the manufacturers add costs for the shipping to cover their vendors in the initial retail pricing levels.)

Mopar 82207143 bed Rail protectors cost 171-179 list
Mopar 82207194 bed rail front cap cost 68-74 list

(vendors change, add, or subtract numbers from OEM manufacturs numbers to keep consumers from cross referencing )

Cheapest found under these MOPAR numbers ranged from 135 to 145 for bed rails and 35-58 for front cap

OEM manufacturers part number: (DEEZEE is OEM manufacturer)
Bedrails 31980 w/o pockets 31982 w/ pockets
cap 5243 for partial cap
5243 for full cap

again

prices on THE EXACT SAME bed rails ran from 97-122 PLUS SHIPPING for the bedrail caps

31.90 to 43.95 PLUS SHIPPING for the bed rail front cap..

GEE INTERESTING.......

NOW using your new knowledge, you could get the bed rails for 79.63 DELIVERED using the manufacturers part numbers

and the front cap for 17.43 DELIVERED...

Summary:
The EXACT same parts cost from:

175.00 at the dealer plus your local sales tax to 79.63 delivered to your home
and
71.94 plus sales tax to 17.43 total delivered to your home..

The manufacturers DO NOT care who buys their products, YOU should CARE from whom, you purchase.

This also goes for the diesel performance market, along with other markets to attempt to "control pricing" to protect dealers profits...

An Educated consumer is the Full (plus) retail markep dealers, nightmare...

It is nice that more and more companies are starting to put limits on how much their products could be sold for.

For example: Edge has a set price that a vendor or shop can sell their products for.

Seems like everyone is a crook these days.

duh why do you think its cheaper to buy cummins parts from cummins then dodge because they didnt make it so they add on to the products price to cover their exspenses. pretty much all places do this the more hands that touch it the higher the product costyou really dont think that it cost dodge 30k to build a truck do ya
