L 10 Cummins tune up

Got a friend in Hanover Virginia that needs an L 10 in his dump truck tuned up.
Anyone know a good Cummins person to do the work that he can trust?

What year truck? Does he just need a valve and injector adjustment? He might be able to do it himself. Valve lash is .014" intake and .027" exhaust. Injectors can be Top Stop, STC, or Celect styles. I've always done the overhead on my own trucks.

He stays pretty busy and was lookng for someone to do the work.
Not sure of the miles but he says he can hear a valve or two rattling and just wants a check up done.

I still believe the best and fastest shop for road tractor engine maintenance is a cummins dealer....they have the skilled knowledge and parts besides guaranteed work

The L 10 is a ez engine to work on compared to the M 11 with computerize fueling.....but its a lower horsepower engine so the tuneup helps to maintain horsepower

I agree in certain cases. BUT, the only one near to where he is I would not trust to grease the bearings on my wheel barrow. They are the ones that left the banjo bolts loose on my 95 and sprayed the whole underside of the hood and engine with diesel fuel, ruined the hood liner, and caused a diesel fuel spill where I work which is a VERY big issue. Then, they would not pay for the hood liner that they ruined either. This is not to mention the fact that they never even fixed the original problem that I went in there with.
Guess we'll have to keep looking.
