General Diesel Discussion Talk about general diesel engines (theory, etc.) If it's about diesel, and it doesn't fit anywhere else, then put it right in here.

Hey,.....maybe I can get the Wifey to approve the purchase of TWO tractors......one for the big stuff, one for the small stuff.
After all,....she has lot of pairs of shoes, and only two feet.

Sounds like a winner to me man! The B26 might be too small for some stuff...but the best way to look at it is that it will just take a little longer. Nobody can ever have the two "perfect" tractors...The only way for things to be "perfect" is to be rich and have them all! I am thinking that I would rather have one of the new John Deeres over this Kubota though...

I wish that I knew more about it, might not have had to work the boom as much as I did to get it out of that mess. I also LOVE playing out there, especially in the mud and muck...if you look closely, in one of those pics, you can see my truck through the willow tree...my mom cussed me out for sinking up in the yard a bit...lol
Did you look near the heel of your left foot? There might be a little inconspicuous bar that you press with your heel to lock both wheels.

Honestly, I had NO clue what that little bar was for...but if you have to hold your foot on it while trying to keep your mind on which lever to push/pull on to operate the boom, use your right foot to operate the forward/backward progress and raise and lower the loader, I would rather just forget about it and use the boom to get me unstuck...it's "inconspicuous" features like that, that aggrevate me. Should be a switch or SOME lockout device, etc that does a simple little function like that, in my opinion to free up limbs...on better thought, work tractors like this should come from the factory with rear diffs locked permanently and you have to worry with the FRONT if you get stuck...seriously, what would it hurt to have the rear permanently locked on a work product like these?

I think there is a way to permanently lock the rear differential. I have no experience with the B26, but there may be a yellow button (or something similar) that you pull up while using your left heel on the differential lock. This will leave the tractor locked until you "hit" the bar again, deactivating the lock.

With the rear locked, you could tear up your yard if you make a sharp turn...or something worse if you make a sharp turn on pavement.

Nice pics and thanks for serving! You know that 4WD backhoes don't get stuck, they just become temporarily bogged down and require repositioning. That machine looks like it's suffering from a serious lack of use, way too much paint left on the bucket. (I can help you fix that.)

You're welcome! Yep, like I said, it's pretty much BRAND new, minus some small piddling my brother did on it. Fun little tractor...I was actually kinda GLAD that I got stuck...gives ya something to work on...getting tractors out of a mud pit can often times serve up as a challenge...boy my mom was upset with me though!
