That's most likely an electronics issue, it's possible your ECM needs a re-flash, or has goofed up somehow, therefore limiting fuel supply. Call your local dealer...

Take a look at the ones in the background of the picture of my truck in my gallery. i would drive them ole boys all day over one of those new JD's or any JD for that sake. There has been one green piece of machinery on our property, and dad admitted that it was the worst money he ever spent. I begged him at the auction not to buy it, but noooooooooooo, so it was sold two months later at the next auction to come around.

is the starter turning over fast enough? i know thius sounds dumb but i have seen it before.

another thing their is no reflashes for an 8300 tractor.

i was an exDeere mechanic but i have not heard of this very often.
i will get a lashing for this but if you pour water on injection pump will it start then?

how many hours are on the engine?
maybe time for new injectors and a pump.

i will try to think something else up for you.

An 8300 is basically a P-pump with and electronic governor on it. It's more then likely a mechanical problem

And i think it starts fast enough, as to start. like normal!
We will try to pour water on the pump tomorrow or so...to see if that helps.
the engine has about 6000 hrs
thanks a lot rob

we had a code about 3 weeks ago, on the ecm, then we finnaly found out it was a relay...

now it seems to be another probl

one more thing.

on the top of the relay block in the cab behind the cowl their are 2 diode blocks that look like relays but with a grab handle in the middle. swap the two and try that if it starts when hot then you found your problem.

what code did it throw? this may lead me a little closer since i have a tech manual handy.which relay was it?

if you swap the diodes i think the one for the ECM part does nothing in the other location but i will look in the book to see for sure.

i have been out of the business for about 3 years but its coming back to me.

hope this helps a little more

we tried it. it might helped one or so....

but someone around here, found the proble, a sensor on top of the inj, pump, was bad. plugging it out, fixed it....

its a sensor that gives a signal of the diesel temp.

it diesel is hot, it didnt start. so he found out its the sensor. thanks for all your help. i appreciate it.

Later we had more problems starting it up! We had to give it a shot or two of ether every single time when we wanted to start it up (cold or hot)

it idled bad, somtimes died at low idle! Twas just BAD!

well it turned out to be the injector pump.

we let local inj shop rebuild it, all new plungers and new barrels, made it start like a champ, and brought it back to its stock power level
