Hey Guys , I am repowering a 1990 suburban , I'm going with a 1st gen 6bt , I am going to use a hydroboost set up since I am using 1 ton axles and brakes .
So I will not need the vacuum pump ... they allways leak anyway ... I know the 4bts came with just a pump set up , would the 4bt steering pump and mount work on the 6bt motor ?

 

It should. If you can find a pump out of an old chevy p-chassis, or something similar it would be just right as I believe all of the diesel versions of those came with hydroboost.

 

Is the P-chassis a full size tractor ?

No the p-chassis is what gm used for the step vans and applications like that, it was just a chassis that the body makers put their own bodies on. Tons of them out there and they used to be available with a 4bt.
