Simplest way. www.carprices.com

Put in the type of vehicle you are looking for and your zip code. I did it and had quotes from 3 dealers in my immediate area. the farthest being 20 miles away.

Sticker price was $46,800. Best quoted price I got online was $36,900. Drove 5 minutes to the local dealer. Paperwork was done. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. Internet car buying is the easiest way to do it!

My 05 was stickered at 46,880...

Price I paid was 36,075 before tax and license.. Just over 40 out the door with the bumper to bumper extended to 6yrs 70k (about 1000.00).

I purchased the warrantee fearing all the electronics in the truck. Bought it on my 99 Durango and it really paid off with all the power window motors that went bad and several A/C problems..

Are you willing to drive to SE CT? I bought mine from a friend who works at a dealership in New London. Invoice-$500-incentives = $7K off sticker last May.

Smile Best price...

I am taking my last vacation between x-mas and the new year ... I am trying to market my ford f350 ...I have a few people intrested in it ... But I am a good judge of people ... none of them have cash or are going to be able to get a lone for my truck ... NADA is saying 22 grand for trade ... I would take 25 for the truck ....I know a stock one is selling for 27 on lots ... but the market is just way over flooded with trucks ... the only thing I have going for me selling it privately I have a ton of extra's .
So on my week off I'm going to run around and hit the local dealers ...right now ford will give me 25 for my truck but only come off the sticker 5 grand ...
But I don't want another piece of CRAP again ...LOL
So I will hit a few local dealers ...I don't have new truck fever ... my 96 12 valve is only 2wd ...I love that truck and it's going no where .
I do need the 4x4 ford for the snow ... I will keep trying to move mine ...theres just to many JO's out there that waste my time ... but they can't say there's another turck down the road just like mine ... theres not .
I don't want to hit the dealer just yet ...I am doing my research ...
Thanks Guys

Greg

good thread

I work for a tier supplier so I think I get 1% below factor invoice (what ever that is) plus all the incentives. I could probably get over a $10k reduction. I would say a $45k truck for $33. Just a guess.

Go to www.edmunds.com and you can find out the invoice price the dealer is paying. This does not include the kick back they recieve from Dodge which is usually 3 to 5% of the MSRP. Even if they sell at invoice, they still make some money. Offer them invoice then take the rebate from that and see if they bite. Never go more than 2% over invoice as that is plenty of profit for the dealer. Remember it is your money and you can walk. Act like your walking and things turn in your favor.
Never deal by monthly payment amount and don't deal by a set amount off of MSRP. Make your deal as a max percentage you will pay over their invoice price. Don't let them bull you, Edmunds is accurate to within a few dollars.

I tried this website, they tell me there are no dealers offering a dodge in the area, they keep trying to get me to pick a FORD! Not exactly what I had in mind.

Even if you figure a standard 30% mark-up for retail (I'm sure that's old school and is much higher for auto sales anyway), 30% of 40,000 is 12,000, so yeah they won't be loseing a whole lot of money giving you 10,000 off the sticker after figuring in the incentives....

Thumbs up

Henson in Madisonville, TX. is probably one of the best in the lone star state. Got mine there, $38 list, paid $28. Have talked to several people who say they will drive a long ways to buy there. They will cut a deal on the phone, give you all the incentives.
About 100 mi N of Houston on I45.
Small town dealer, like out of the 30's. Country folk, friendly.

I bought a used 2500 3 weeks ago. They were asking 19999 for it. I got their quote paper with their figures on it and put my counter offer at the bottom. I circled the counter offer and said that is what I'll pay. When she came back with something other than what I wanted I had the wife pack up the kid. That lady looked at me in amazment. I told her I don't want to waste my time or hers. She begged me to wait so she could work on it. They finally met my needs. Then I still wouldn't settle unless the intrest rate was what I wanted. They finally agreed to that and a full tank of fuel, 89 dollars worth. Make them work for you!!!!! Or leave.
