How do u do a burnout with a 5spd?
With a auto it's simple, but how do u guys do a burnout with a stick? and how do u shift through it without the truck just taking off? I can't hold the brake, let out the clutch and hit the pedal at the same time, lol.
Rev the motor to 2500rpm, dump the clutch, then get on the brake and hold it just enough to keep the truck from moving. You could do it in 2nd gear and you should have enough tire speed to get the tires smoking good. 3rd would be a little to hard on the clutch to do.
I can do it in 3rd. With the 366 spring, I push the pedal about 3/4 of the way and let go of the clutch. I just did this last Saturday. Unfortunately, it was on tar but left 2 big black lines in it
The thing that irked me though, I didn't realize that the tires were spinning until I let up on the go pedal. My bro was laughing because just as I let up he was saying something like "No smoke, but they are spinning"

Hope this helps,
Jon

Right foot turned sideways with toes on throttle, heel on brake. Push throttle and brake at the same time, ease out on the clutch. Rpm drops, add fuel until you are rotating. I can get it turning pretty slow this way and then just ease into the throttle. I have never got my left foot over onto the brake. I dug a pretty good, well two good divets in the parking lot at the caddy dealer this way, hard on the tires though and I don't have $600 laying around for new tires so I try not to do it. It was fun while it lasted though!!!!
Step 1: push left pedal all the way to the floor
Step 2: push the right pedal all the way to the floor
Step 3: make sure the tach is on or past the red line
Step 4: put it in third gear
Step 5: side step the left pedal
Step 6: catch a ride to the parts store to buy new parts for the ones you just tore up
Next question:
Why would you want to do this?

Wait, on public roads Step #1 is to look around for po-po first. The town I live in has a $20.00 per foot per mark + "exhibitation of accelleration" fine.

lol ^. once it's time to buy some new tires, i'll post a nice burnout vid. I'm planning on some 35x12.5 tires with 2" spacers so no burnouts when I get those bacause there like $170 a pop.
However, I run my old 235s for doing burnouts, plust they light a lot easier than these sticky allterrains.
