I think it would be pretty cool. Maybe with a black pipe instead of chrome or stainless though. I've never seen any pickups with a hood stack except for on the track.
So how would you figure out where to cut the hood? and how much space do you need to have over the pipe size to still let the hood move at the hinges??

Duhhhhh! I new here, but by hood stack, do you mean exhaust stacks coming through the hood?
Where would you place them so as not to obstruct visibility?

it doesnt obstruct visibility much at all...they dont have to more than 6-10 inches above the hood....but so far all of the hood stacks i have seen are because of a twin turbo setup which makes it practical...on a single turbo i cant imagine a practical way of doing it

i was thinking about makign that but I didnt really feel good about mutilating the hood...they're expensive...and also from a daily driver point of view how will u block crap from going down there...what about heavy rainy days?...what about idiots in parking lots who will put pop cans or whatever down there?

Flapper for the rain because once its running none will make it in. And for the oblect protection you could weld a peice of steel screen in there like the ricers use in there grill.

i need a spare hood with a hole for truck pulls.... just need a 90* and a foot or more of pipe... i think there's a hood that would work great at the salvage yard..... hmmmmmmm this could be fun. local cop said he wouldn't pull me over, but that's not all of them.

Ive always wondered what a hood stack would look like if it was run along the a-pillar like a snorkel? It would exit above the cab making it somewhat more legal.

It's your money and your truck, but Texas law requires that the exhaust must exit behind the passenger compartment. If a LEO is looking for a reason to ticket you, the hood stack will qualify.
