CDC (Consolidated Diesel) is a joint venture between Cummins and Case IH that is located in North Carolina.
CDC manufactures engine for Cummins, Case, and Cummins other customers.

So saying it is a Case engine is somewhat true, but it is a Cummins engine.
The Dodge version if the ISB is manufactured in a different facility in Columbus, Indiana "Columbus Midrange Engine Plant" and is an all Cummins facility.

Cummins also has joint ventures with Komatsu, Scania, Mercury Marine etc.

i got into it again with my neighbor yesterday while working on a buddies gasser 1500 dodge. he started raving about how EVERY diesel engine is made by one company and thay just have different names so they can sell them to different companies, but if they all had the same name it wouldnt be as good. i just laugh, i mean he just spent $219 for a K&N filter for his 04.5 because he researched it and this new design is better than the AFE, quadzilla, or scotty brand intakes for a 3rd gen.

We don't exactly fall under the same rules. Besides having someone riding on a trailer isn't exactly legal (even if they do steer). Oh yeah.... I'm sorry, It is right at 78,000 lbs. I just rounded it up.

t-7 is correct

I dont know of any state that fire trucks , engines, watare tenders or ladder trucks fall into the or under any kind of weight restriction , unless they are being moved from one state to another as a new unit and then there are some nasty restrictions in montana and wyoming.

Ok, I'm not by any means slow, dumb witted or off the wall. But after reading that I'm really not sure if I should put GM parts, Ford, Dodge, CAse, or beer on my truck.

Hoss, since you invented these engines (as I'm told) I'm looking for a fuel cell, specifically a Flux capacitor. I'm really tired of waiting to fill up the tank and why do that when you can hook us up with that.

When approached by somebody that thinks they know everything about anything, I do as my parents taught me. "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"

Speaking of the tiller.....why did your department decide to order a tiller truck? Do you have that tight of streets. In tulsa we us the Brontos they are 118 foot ladders and they turn great no need for a tiller. THey also weigh in just under 80 lbs.

We do have some Tight streets around here. One of the one nice things about these trucks is that we can put it places that a pump can't even get in to. And on top of that, they are Real fun to drive

Many years ago I did see a Chevy pulling truck with a turned up 318 detroit fuel sqeezer but I didn't see it run. Would that be an 8V71 or 8V92 ?
