Thats a loaded question my friend. Comparing a new to an older truck is going to be pared down to creature comforts and having the new truck with all the emissions controls. While the 6.7 in the new rigs will be a good bump in power stock to stock, you can fix that with a few mods to the older rig. That being said, the 6 spd and exhaust brake are a nice feature to tow with.

I am sure that doesn't help..

Personally, I would go for the '04. I dont want to deal with all that emissions stuff.

Auto or stick on the 04? The reason I ask is a stick is easier to add an exhaust brake to.. The auto is adaptable as well.

The emissions suck on the new units. however the EB and 6 spd auto is nice!
