I just heard that in the summer fuel prices might be goin' down for some reason I dont know. Just thought that ya'll might want to know that.

I was paying $1.19 last summer compared to $1.54 now.

 

That would be great, 20-25 gal. a day in starting to get expensive.

 

Paid $1.65 on base today ... same price as the cheap gas. Still 20 cents cheaper than out in town.<br><br>PISTOL

Pappyman<br>The reason that the taxes on diesel IS so high is because the big trucks use it. The government figured that they are a cash cow. It is like tires. They are taxed extra if the carcass weighs over 100#. Who uses them? Class 8 trucks. In the end we all get it in the ......... You know the saying.<br>BTW I was getting fuelyesterday and got done paying $1.659 and the sign was getting changed to $1.699 before I got back to my truck.

 

<br>Just got back from the pump and paid 1.749 at a truck stop with treated fuel.

 

Pappyman,<br><br>Those are some interesting statistics on diesel tax by states. Looks like diesel gets a kick in the hinder, because in most states it seems to get taxed a few cents more. Not too many where it is less than the gas tax. The price here in Texas wouldn't be bad if I could get rid of the 44.4 cents per gallon between the fed and the state. These prices could eat a fixed income up quick.<br><br>Tom

 

Up here is Ontario diesel is 72.8 a litre, 76.5 a litre for ultra diesel. Gas is about 78.4 a litre. (Yeah I know, I hate litres too)

 

I am with PappyMan here.<br><br>Big brother needs to get their noses out of the little guys pocket and be taxing diesel equal to gasoline.
