Well I would be in a dilema...I don't care for Ford, but I might have to consider it. I'm not brand loyal...in fact, I can find a lot about my truck that I don't like. But I didn't go looking to buy a Dodge, I just found a good deal on a Cummins. It just happened to come in a Dodge, so thats what I'm driving. If the engine outlasts the rest of the truck (hopefully), then I'll probably look for some cool old classic truck to put it in, maybe a 50's style. If I had the work and storage space right now, there was an old Diamont T dump truck that was for sale in a local classified guide. It would have been cool to update and set on 1-ton running gear to use as a daily driver/mild work truck.

Industry rumours report a 6 spd Aisin auto tranny with the larger displacement CTD for 07.

i was looking at the ford commercial truck website, powerstroke, caterpillar, and cummins are offered in the f650 body styles, allison automatic transmissions are optional equipment as well, so the allison thats bolted to the cummins thats in the ford, wow what a concept huh. seems like a good combo? Im almost certain the alison thats used for that particular application wont work in the ram 2500 or ram 3500.... im no diesel guru just some food for thought

Look for Dodge to go with the MB labeled engine that is made by Detroit. The MB is already EPA certified, and owned in-house by Daimler Chrysler. Most dealer service departments have already been notified to plan for training on the MB engine.

Along with the Aisin six spd auto.
Keep it all under the umbrella.

I was looking in the weekly trader and I saw a truck w/ a Allison trany. I called him and he said that the Allison was put in there from the factory. I hope that Dodge sticks with a good diesel engine. I don't like those Isuzu motors or IH motors that Ford and Chevy had.
