Ford auto to ZF 6sp How much?
My good friend has had it with Ford and his automatic (2002 7.3L). Is It possible to do a swap into a ZF 6sp. I know It is expensive but is it possible and what other advice could i give him. Maybe a better TC for his auto. Trust me he is a Dodge lover at heart he just didn't know any better when he bought his ford. He doesn't want to buy another truck

It is possible and not that difficult.
Probably the biggest change is the ECM. He will need to change to an ECM for a manual truck. The auto ECM won't work as it needs transmission signal inputs or it will not control the engine properly.
He will need
a manual ECM
a flywheel rather than a flexpate
pressure plate
clutch
ZF6
clutch pedal assembly with slave cylinder
It would be a fair sized job to get all this figured out. Not impossible. Probably not that expensive. But not trivial either.

I think I'd sell your automatic with the transfercase on it. And I'd buy the ZF6 with the transfer case on it. Then you wouldn't have to worry about the transfercase.
You could check if the driveshafts are the same by visiting a Ford parts counter.
I don't know anything about torque converters. I'm a manual transmission guy.
