First Timer
Just barely describes the feeling for this first timer, almost as good as .... Let's leave that to your imagination!Just got my new truck home yesterday after driving back from the dealer in ID, something on the order of 350 miles. Started off with only 29 miles on the clock and by the time I got home the computer was reading in the 15 -16 mpg range. I know that is computer reading but the fuel guage shows better than a half tank of fuel left after a little over 300 miles on the only fill up.
By first timer I'm talking first diesel. Wanted one for years and just couldn't pull it off. Finally bit the bullet and got one. My dad has a '90 with over 280000 on it and he won't consider a different engine. My mom worked as a parts runner for a diesel garage for a few years and says that the Cummins was the engine with the fewest problems.
So with these recommendations I didn't even look at the wanna be's, couldn't see wasting my time.
Now got to get a spray in bed liner, my fifth wheel hitch and brake controller installed and raise my 5er and I'll be ready to roll.

Hey, now aren't we having fun? Congratulations. You will love it. Just keep your foot off the floor, get some miles on it and the mileage will come up. Be sure to get a Jordan or Brakesmart controller for that fiver.
