finding diesel fuel stations

Say I'm pulling my 5th in a different state, how can I plan my fuel stops. Is there a web source to help find diesel fuel stations?

Yep, most major truck stop chains have a web site listing diesel locations and prices.

There's also a book printed for RV'ers that list services on Interstate Exits.

Try a Google search....

A lot of the larger places have a list of locations as well as list the prices for fuel at the time.

Here are a few:

TA
http://www.tatravelcenters.com/ta/di...l_prices.phtml

Pilot
http://www.pilotcorp.com/

Wal-Mart
http://www.murphyoilcorp.com/stores/

There are more, but those are a few.

well i drive to ct once a month and from here it is 1.61 per gal i can make it to you for the next fuel up which is usually 1.50s i try to avoid other states like maryland 1.95 and when i leave ct i only put in enough fuel to get to jersey before i fill up again. but i have been caught low on fuel before and had to pay high prices. my suggestion would be bring along an extra 5 or 10 gals to give yourself some lead way.

hope this helps

Flying Js are usually close enough together that you don't need to worry about running out on the Interstate at least. They're open 24 hours and have good fuel.

Or, an auxillary fuel tank will eliminate your worry.

Any one know if they have any diesel stations in Beatty, Nv. or near there. I've checked all the sources I know and can find no info. Being the east end of Death Valley I know there's no truck stops.

Thanks, Tpilaske! I guess I need to pick up one of those guides since I'm new to the Diesel scene. Actually those auxillary tanks with a toolbox is starting to look real attractive. That would give me a place for the fuel additive. Had a bottle of that stuff leak in the truck the first real hot day we had boy that reeks!

Flying J is definitely my favorite truck stop.

They have pay at the pump at 90% of their stops. They have a seperate fueling island JUST for RVs and small trucks as well as seperate parking for RVs and small trucks. They have clean bathrooms too.

The only place I ever had problems finding a diesel station was in Chicago. I ended up having to go to a fuel station on a toll road and argue with the attendant that I did, indeed, need to buy diesel fuel.

Truck stop directories as was mentioned before. I keep one near me and will real often plan my runs around where I can pull the rig in and shut down for the night. To drive for a living requires lots of planning ahead. Petro's are my 1st choice, no lot lizards! Close to Chicago, E on 80/94 to exit 6 in Gary, there's a Pilot I paid $1.55/gal last week, only needed 174 gals. Definitely, a truck stop guide at most any truck stop..........Dan
