EXTREME 4x4 ON NOW!!
Those guys were idiots for thinking a suburban type truck with a diesel, a hd gn flatbed, camper, and jeep could only weigh 12k. That tow rig probably weighs close to 8 alone. It is a pretty sweet rig though.

if you pasue the show when the are showing the scale weigth you can see the truck weight 10K by itself and the trailer weighted 8k
cause when the camera man showed him pull onto the scales he did not have the truck parked correct to get weight for each axle.. he had entire truck on one scale and then the trail axles were on 2 different scales..
IE: he weighted it incorrect..
I was hoping he would have weighted it correct ( put front axle on one sclae and rear axle on one scale and trailer on one scale would have showed the weight better.) so we could see if he had the weight over each axle correct..
oh well still a pretty cool truck.. of course I bet in the long run the interior will be redone.. since you can tell all that sheet metal sure was loud when he was talking.. I guess he should have put down some carpet

I noticed that too. I have a DVR deal on my TV so I can pause it. Too bad they didnt get a real axle weight, I wanted to know just how much it weighed on the front axle alone.
That trailer is awesome, did anyone else see them build it?? I missed it, and they wont repeat it!!
They did some neat things, and some things I questioned. (like a single itty bitty air filter) But all in all, cool.
I laughed when someone said there guess around 12K. I knew it had to be around 18k+ maybe even 22k. lol

How did you do that. I would love to work on one of their projects even if I didn't get on tv I would just like to see their shop and bs with the guys.
That thing sounded just like my Ford IDI does, from the starter cranking, the idle, and the exhaust note.
Howd u get so lucky to work with them anyhow??
Here is my write up on the trip..

Then when Ian needed a new project he called me and I found him a Jeep XJ to use on the JeepSpeed build up.. if you have not seen it you will see it again..
So when I delivered him the XJ at the studio, I hung out for the day and since I love to fab stuff I hung around and we worked on the trailer for half a day.. then went and had some dinner..
Ian and jessi are both great people very laid back normal folks.. very easy to talk to and hang out with.. all in all I have had a great time hanging with them and yet if you had the chance you would never even think they are on TV.. lot different then a lot of hollywood folks..

Really?? Thats awesome! I just wanted to see what kinda material (thickness, type) they used where, and the axles. I dont know much about trailer suspension (ok anything about trailer suspension) So I wanted to see how they build it. Just the overall design and placement of things like crossmembers and any reinforcement, and how the decking was attached. I saw the last episode where they did the lights, and winch, n started the thing up.

My idea for the long run is to build myself a gooseneck and put my bed camper on the front of it and jeep on the back half..
but time will tell
