That is the most pointless thread. For all anyone knows it could be some 15 year old kid trying to "amaze" people. One guy mentioned a duramax in a dodge. Okay I believe ya

It's really true, the truck is being built at Merchant Automotive in Michigan.

There isnt anything wrong with the 7.3 psd's and the 6oh's are starting to make very respectable hp too. Say what you like, the ford is the better truck.

What exactly is the respectable power you're seeing in either Ford engine?

Yeah and the '03 to '05 6.0 PSD have great longevity and awesome resale value. Ford will get this debacle fixed just in time to do it again with the 6.7 twin turbo junker they are going to market. Nice to have a comfy cab when you are stranded waiting for the wrecker to pick you up. 7.3 was/is a good engine (cackle aside) 6.0 can't handle a box without problems.

500+ is getting more and more common with either engine. With injectors and turbos finally out for the 6oh its gonna be one to watch. I agree though alot of 6oh's are plagued with trouble but the few that arent run like a raped ape.

I believe the cackle is because of the stupid dead head fuel system on the 99+ 7.3's, add regulated return and that goes away. Kinda funny you mention the ability of the 6oh not being able to handle a simple box. Well the 6oh thats in the 11's is still on stock tranny, stock turbo, stock hg's, stock headbolts and runs 2 stages of N20. Id say with the right programming they are very capable of being reliable.

yeah how many miles are on that 1/4 to 3/4's i'd bet that that i wont make the miles our bombed CTD are hitting......250,000 for the CTD (on the low side) 50,000 (on the high side) for the turd!

You've got to look long and hard to find any Fords at the 500 hp level. They're out there, but quite rare, and when you find them, they're usuallly on drugs. You very seldom see that kind of power out of a Ford at any dyno meet.

With only 4 head bolts per cylinder, the 6.0 will probably never be a big power maker. They start puking antifreeze at around 35 or 40 lbs boost.

I've seen that truck in person. I was not impressed by any means. I don't even think it cracked 500hp and the exhaust was still burning bright red when it was coming out of the exhaust. Not to mention that it's a regular cab, shortbed, 2wd with a full roll cage, slicks, a suspension from hades, and a stripped down interior. There are 4x4 dodges running in the 11's with a full interior. Whats to be impressed about? It's like that snow white hunk of junk. Wow. It ran in the 11's. Big deal. It has to be gutted and run on slicks and can barely start. I also have a hard time believing that the tranny, headgasket, and head bolts are still stock. I know the turbo is still stock. Making that kind of power on the stock stuff is unlikely. Not saying it can't be done, just saying tha I find it very hard to believe. The 7.3 was a good engine, don't get me wrong. But you have to drop a butt load of money into them to make them run decent. And the 6.0L, well, let's just say that the fact ford is redesigning the engine after only 2 or 3 years should tell you something about it.
