DTR's November 2003 Truck Of the Month

Greetings Members.
Another month has drawn to a close and we, the members of the DTR Truck of the Month Committe, Joel, Dennis, & Ed have again labored long and hard checking out all those pretty rides in the Member's Photos section.
You guys and gals keep making our jobs harder with all those great looking trucks.

After all the votes were tallied (without a single pregnant or hanging chad) we have selected another outstanding truck to join those previous winners in the hallowed hall of the DieselTruckResource Truck Of the Month Gallery.

And now with help from our Truck of the Month sponsor
Forest City Diesel

We are proud to announce the winner for
November 2003
Diesel Truck Resource
Truck Of the Month.
is:
Drum roll please...........................

And now a few words from our winner to describe his pride and joy.

I am truly thrilled to have my baby chosen Truck Of the Month. It’s a 1999 3500 Quad Cab 4x2. It has a Choo Choo (Chattanooga, TN) conversion, which includes leather interior, rosewood dash kit, stainless steel running boards, Rhinoliner, and Progressive aluminum wheels, and fiberglass front air dam with driving lights.
Other mods include:
DTT torque converter and valve body
Pacbrake and DTT smart controller
Mag-Hytec double deep tranny pan
Mild injectors
Edge EZ
BHAF with heat shield
Autometer EGT, Boost, Tranny Temp, and Westach FP gauges, all on the pillar
NASCAR decaling on the hood

Future mods will include sound deadening for the cab, Amsoil double-bypass filter system, and possibly an auxiliary transmission. I love the sound of my truck, but I am also a music teacher and want to hear more of the nuances of my tunes while on the road. I run solo about 80 % of the time, and with the 4:10 gears, the double overdrive of an aux. transmission might make sense. This is my “forever” truck, so I try to take exceptional care of it.

Thanks to Joel, Dennis and Ed, the TOM committee, for considering my truck. I’ve also owned Ford and GMC diesel pickups and was a member of the appropriate websites when I owned them. But I’ve never been associated with another website that is fine as this one. Thank you to Jack, Lary, and all the people who run this place and make it such a great place for all of us who frequently hang out hats here.

DeWain Gardner

Thanks again to Forest City Diesel for supplying the beautiful award for each month's winners.

And with that, we close the book on another chapter of TOM.

Keep posting those pics, and we'll keep checking those galleries for the next DTR Truck Of the Month.

Tiny,

Thanks for the kind words. When I'm towing I've got a 11,000 lb Jayco fifth wheel following me. You can see a pic of the truck with the trailer in my member photo album...page 8. Click on the picture above.

Re:DTR's November 2003 Truck Of the Month

Dewain,
Nice truck !!! It's about time that we got a properly-wheeled truck of the "preferred" color as T.O.M.

I really like the side steps on it ... may have to look into a set of those.

Pistol:

I agree with you on all counts! I love the "B.E.R.T." in your sig. I've adopted that as the name for my truck, unoffically, or course, as my truck qualifies, too.
