General Diesel Discussion Talk about general diesel engines (theory, etc.) If it's about diesel, and it doesn't fit anywhere else, then put it right in here.

Dodgeram.org

Can anyone tell me where this site went? It was a great resource for information on second generation trucks.

Looks like someone forgot to pay the bill. I needed it today and noticed it was gone ..... what a bummer.

I wonder if it would be possible ( or expensive) to migrate that information onto this site as a tech section, or some such?

It looks similar, although some of the links don't work. I've had dodgeram bookmarked for years. Something's changed.

Dodgeram.org has been down several times now over the past few months. So far, it has always been back up after a short while, but I fear it may go down for good at some point. It's a shame as there is much good info to be found for the older trucks.

Yeah, it looks like we might have to wait a couple more days for it to update:

Domain NameODGERAM.ORG
Created On:16-Feb-2000 13:48:36 UTC
Last Updated On:18-Feb-2011 10:48:28 UTC
Expiration Date:16-Feb-2012 13:48:36 UTC
Sponsoring Registrar:Register.com Inc. (R71-LROR)
The domain was just renewed, so it'll need about 3 or 4 days for the DNS updates to get pushed out.

Perhaps we should consider copying the data from that site ......

Certainly you could but if you tried to post the stuff somewhere else you run the risk of a lawsuit. I can tell you that we have had to contact other forum owners because they copy and paste our info in their website

The guy that put all that info together over there, deserves to be paid for his effort if someone wants to use it elsewhere.

I guess what my thoughts are, would it be possible to contact the owner of the site to see if he would be willing to migrate all of that info to this site? Maybe he doesn't have the time or money to keep it up himself anymore but would like to see it continue to help people.

We approached him some time back about purchasing his site but there was no interest at the time. I don't know what his current plans are .....

I worked with Dave Fritz with some articles and organization back when dodgeram first started.
I'm positive he wouldn't mind if articles were copied. Many of the most used pages are TSBs which are public anyways.
Last I heard geno's garage was paying the domain bill.
Maybe they spaced it out.
I would email Dave about it but my bet is he's already been flooded.
Diesel database went though the same problem a few months ago but was right back up again in a few days.
