dodge extended warratny
Re:dodge extended warratny
I too got the mailer. Looked it up on the website and it didn't make any provisions for the Cummins. Since the engine is warranted by cummins, why wouldn't it be less cost than a gas engined truck covered by dodge? ???
Re:dodge extended warratny
Dodge waived the Cummins warranty in order to cover it with their own warranty.
That is why Dodge has a "limited" 100,000 mile warranty, most of the truck's warranty expires at 36,000 or 48,000 but the engine and related components go up to 100,000.

Therefore, Cummins does not warranty our engines as they do every other Cummins engine out there.

phox

Re:dodge extended warratny
;D It is true that your normal warranty is Bumper to Bumper for 3 yrs 36K miles and the power train is 7 yrs 100K. If you purchase the extended warranty it ups your 3yr 36 to what ever it is. This covers, depending on which one, all of those other things like the electrical system and body computer. It doesn't seem like much to you at the time but it may make a difference in the future. I myself like the extended warranties and hope that I never have to use them. All they are is insurance just like you have on truck.
That's my .02 worht anyway.

Why wouldn't an extended warranty for a truck whose engine is already under coverage be less than a gas engined truck whose coverage is up at 36k?
Re:dodge extended warratny
I work at a car dealership in the service dept. at the counter. My advise is don't was your money. If you have it to spend, put it in a bank account & draw out if something goes bad. At the ned you'll have money left over. Spend it for Bombing ;D ;D ;D
Re:dodge extended warratny
I was at the dealer today. He was trying to sell me the extended plan. Normally I wouldn't bother. He then told me that I had a guarantee that if I didn't use it, I get my money back. The standard is 3/36 so anything after that but before say 7/100 would be covered. What do you think about that deal?

Re:dodge extended warratny
I couldn't believe it either
! I did see it in writing though. It said Guaranteed Price Refund. I figure that if I go for it and any little things that come up in that time period, I could wait until the end see if it is worth it. But then again, maybe I'll just keep my money.
