I voted no because this phenomenon isn't unique to diesels =P

For me, a diesel truck is the only real truck. I regard a guy in a Ford diesel as more of a "Brother" than a guy in a Dodge 1500....

I voted no, seems most of the newer Ford owners I run into were hit with the blue stick waaay to hard. They think anything but a Ford is junk.
Most of them are 6.0 owners,,,oh the irony.

I "redlight chatted" with a fellow Duramaxer tonight. I looked over at his triple pod gauges and he looked back at mine. That started the whole thing.

The odd thing is that he didn't try to outrun me. But I did... Me with my crappy, slush-box transmission. So it wasn't exactly a hardcore outrun (maybe even a normal take-off to his standards). I wish I could do something about it.

(I usually don't use this many emoticons... )

I had to vote 50/50!!!!!!

The older generation around here (by this i mean older than 30 and has paid for their own vehicles) seem to have an appreciation of a fine tuned machine....

The younger generation (that drives dad's 3500 Dodge to cruise the main drag) it's all about competition.....it isn't even a friendly rivalry here....it gets down right mean.....

I only respect the other Cummins owners. The others are just modified car engines.

Ouch watch out there !! My dad bought my 91' but I paid for most of my 01' only because my dad offered to help pay for it not because I asked for help . I am only 20.

But as far as the original question. its 50/50

I agree, in most cases it is like that for the youngins(Like me, lol)

I'll be honest, I'm only almost 18, and I drive our new 07 Mega 3500 quite a bit, and drove our 91 3500 when we had it. I see many young Duramax drivers, and young 6.0 drivers being stupid. But in my group, there is about 4 1st Generation CTD's, 3 2nd Generation CTD's, and about 5 3rd Generation CTD's, along with many 7.3 drivers(even a few 6.2 drivers).... and we all enjoy the finely tuned/performance side of diesels....and we laugh at the idiotic Duramax and new Ford drivers.

Im gonna say 50/50. I usually wave at people in diesels, and ill race if they want, but even if i race someone and lose I dont get mad. Just give em a thumbs up and go on But like teddybear said, when we pass one of out buddies or something its usually coal rollin' time

Around here we are all pretty friendly. Being how we are on a military base, us diesel owners are a rare breed compared to the ricer groups. We ask about each others trucks, make fun of the Ford guys because we know deep down they really wish they had the big "C" on their fenders! Have even been asked by a guy thats running a Duramax to help him install gauges! Only one that I have ever even tried to race with is my boss when he felt froggy one day. But he drives a diesel Jetta, so I dont really count him! But he did get beat and left in a cloud of smoke!

I would have to say yes, i was on 95 in virgina 2 weeks ago and saw a 1st gen on the side of the road with the hood up, but i was cruising to fast in the center lane to stop( i was sin my rig grossing 86,000lb and yes i did go around all the scales all the way from FL ) so i went to the next exit and turned around and went back south to the last exit i passed and did a flip headed back north again to help the guy out if i could but apparently by the time i went 12 miles out of the way he had gotten it running and was gone, but it didnt bother mas as i was there to help.
