How fast is your truck exactly? It seems like one scary first gen.

i see a lot more fords and duras on the road and they giv dirty looks at times but i kinda give that try me look alot to but when i see a cummins i give all do respect to them. A while ago some guy in a tricked out duramax with a hot chick gave me a look and as we got on the free way"i was a ways ahead" i watched him coming on a hella run so i hit stage 2 tromped on it blew a huge cloud and he dropped right back in his place back to normal speed and never did come up beside me then. but to be honest these duramax owners seem very proud and confident and from what they talk i better not mess with them not to steal a post but how bad are these things should we respect them

yeah my truck is big and bad alright, with its missing front left hub cab, missing front fender flares, missing right fog light, bent up front license plate, and huge rake because im too lazy to crank the torsion bars up.

but, I appreciate the stereotype

Id say yes. 9 times out of 10 when i meet another diesel on the road i'll throw up a wave and shoot a lil puff of smoke. If its one of my friends we'll black out both lanes as we pass each other If i get beside another diesel at a stop light I ALWAYS try to get out in front first. Sometimes people bite, and sometimes they just look at me like im an idiot

A little conversation at the pump is about it. But there are tons of diesels around here in all makes, models and years.

It's not like riding my bike. Just about all the cruisers around here wave at each other when they pass even if they are going the opisite way on a four lane. (does not apply to crotch rockets )

if i am ever in a traffic situation where i have to accommodate another driver the dodge diesels always get the right of way with me. fixed up ones usually get a thumbs up but i don't think there is any other camaraderie with other diesel drivers.

that said, when i had my Subaru Impreza STi (it was a phase, leave me alone ) many Subaru drivers would give the steering wheel wave to each other, i know i got it all the time from other WRX and STi drivers.

subaru? couldnt resist.

i give all CTD drivers respect, most of the chevy guys(if they arent being idiots at the time) and none to the 6.0,6.4 ford guys(i'm good to the 7.3 crowd).

I see a 6.0, i fog 'em plain and simple. Most of the dmax guys here are lifted with big tires, and only an exhaust, they dont even try.

I have never run another ctd here, we dont feel a need to do it.

I would say yes. I think its the same as the muscle car guys, there is always competition, and always a a**hole, but over all yes.

I've run with the Ricer crowd (before getting into trucks), and its one for one, and all for one there. They care about each other to a point, especially if you diss another fellow Honda/Mitsu guy, but otherwise they are pretty independent from each other.

I just have a repect for other diesels period. I always laugh at the cheap SOB's that buy the v-10's or even sadder the 2500 v-8's. There excuse when I ask why is always, I didn't want to have to deal with the hassle of a diesel, or the ones with the v-10's always seem to say, well it has more horsepower than your diesel, I always correct them and say "HAD more HP than my diesel"..have fun gettin your 4mpg hwy towing a trailer

I had to vote 50-50.

Back when I had the 6.2 ( late 80's ) we all waved at each other, probably because we were such a minority. Since I came back to the real truck community, it seems almost like when CB's became commonplace, there are true believers and wannabes. The true believers couldn't care less what you are driving, you belong. The wannabes are off in their own little Sally world, be it a kid with the "fastest diesel" or the Sally dad who can't change a fuel filter.

I still have to bust my 6.0 buddy's chops, but its all in good fun.........

I would, but I only want to make them feel a little bad, not bad enough to jump off of a cliff

There aren't many Cummins around here, except for a local landscaping company who has 2 or 3 truck identical to mine. They always wave. I figure they think my truck is one of their coworkers.

I get my fuel from a local oil company and when one of the oil trucks pull up next to me, the drivers will often ask me about it. If they know what it is why do they always say "How do you like that CUMMINGS?"

I have noticed Hemi ram owners look at my front fender, then look at me, then back at the fender. The look on thier face tells me they don't know about the many benefits of owning an oil burner.
