Yep, all ads. I just go to the bookstore when I'm in town and read it there. it only takes about 20 minutes if you dig through all the ads. If you own a 12 valve, they don't have alot on them.

Just received the September issue... Seems like a good issue. There's an article in there that I found interesting. The article compared fuel mileages of a 1st gen Cummins 2wd, 1st gen Cummins 4wd, '07 4wd LMM Duramax, and '07 2wd LBZ Duramax. The LMM had a chip to help with fuel economy. Ok, the results... The LBZ got 29.52 mpg at 60-65 mph! Following that was the 2wd 1st gen at 27.71 mpg (at 2200 rpm), followed by the LMM at 27.38 mpg, and finally the 4wd 1st gen at 23.38.

All I have to say about this... BULL! Or maybe it's true but I'm really shocked that they pulled off those numbers. Especially the LBZ Duramax.

I let my subscription lapse for the same reason - ads. All the info a person could ever want or need is right here on this very forum.

If you want the best diesel magazine you have to subscribe to the "Turbo Diesel Register". It's not cheap and it only comes out 4 times a year, but the articles are well researched and have lots of facts to back them up. Also, it is only about Dodge Diesels, no Fords or Chevys.

Ahhh yes, TDR... The forum where you gotta pay to post...

I guess if a person is thinking of subscribing to a diesel magazine anyhow it's an option.....

... and it IS Dodge only ...

... hmmmmm.....

It's something good to read while you are on the throne. Once in a while they have something worthwhile to learn about, but it does seem like they cater to their advertisers a lot.

Hmmm, maybe read how they got those numbers. Tailgating/drafting each other, coasting at every opportunity, driving with an egg under the foot, etc....you can milk a lot of extra mpg's with extremely conservative hypermile driving....

Who said anything about a forum?

Since you brought it up though, it is a magazine subscription, with a free membership to a forum.

And being Dodge only may have some biases, but I don't wanna hear about Chevy or Ford so it works great for me! To each their own.

I think the last quarter of the magazine this month was all ads! Not to mention all the ones in between.

The current issue has a 12 truck challenge and there is a Dmax that got 38mpg but the guy is running diesel and CNG which sounds interesting.

I like all the diesel related magazines on the market right now. Each one has its good points and its bad points. If I were to rate the magazines to my preference, it'd be Diesel Tech, Diesel Power, Diesel World, 8 Lug, Diesel Builder.

Diesel power is the best I think. I subscribed @ the first issue so I have every issue. I think It is more informative than any of them. When im in the mood to look at the show trucks i buy a copy of 8 lug, they seem to be like truckin for diesels with the custom audio and all that kind of stuff.

I will second this Magazine.

Probably the BEST forum and mag out there.
