Diesel Generator......I need metric fuel line.

I recently purchased a Kubota (japan) generator and I'm in the process of going through it.........oil change, coolant change, clean fuel tank out, new belts, etc. Anyway, there are 6 fuel line segments of varying size, they are metric, and need to be able to handle diesel. Does anybody know where I can get these fuel lines at?

The reason I'm running into this problem is that the generator is what some consider gray market.........produced overseas but not marketed main stream here. I can only find limited information about the generator on the internet. It is a very interesting/fascinating generator.......has hand crank, belt drive, and super heavy.

Thanks for any info in advance.

Fuel Line

Metric fuel line as in metal?? I don't know what most trucks use, but you should be able to go to a NAPA or even a cummins store and see if you can find some fuel line in that size. I'm sure they have to carry supplies like that. You may have to get a small tubing bender and do the lines yourself, but it should work. I've bent many brake lines, and SS lines for stuff like that on gassers, sure Diesel lines are most likely thicker, but you know.

Metric fuel line as in rubber or it's equivalent. 5/16" standard fuel line is too small I.D. with too large an O.D., and 3/8" is a loose fit with too large and O.D. I would think there was some place on the internet that would specialize in rubber fuel lines.....metric/standard/everything.

Try a Kubota tractor dealer. If you don't have a 'Bota dealer nearby, try any tractor dealer. Virtually all the smaller ones are built overseas and are mostly metric.

You could also try your local Napa store. They should be able to get it, if they don't have it in stock.

FYI, Don't be surprised if you get nowhere with a Kubota TRACTOR dealer.
Two weeks ago I went down to Gulf Coast Tractor (big kubota warranty dealer&service) here in Corpus Christi, for some parts info.
Told the counterman I need info on a part for a Kubota D-905bg..."
He interrupted me right there and said "we don't deal in industrial engines!"...
I tried again thinking he might be able to find info on the same common engines used in generators and tractors..He said he has to have a TRACTOR model number, not an ENGINE model number...
Tried a different tact, Same response..
He said I have to contact xyz co. way up in Houston!!!
Never mind...

So, you may have better luck fabbing up some from NAPA or an import parts place.

I have had the same problem with Isuzu regarding truck and marine part numbers. They are completely different, and the 'wrong' parts people really can't help in that case, since they don't have the right books to look the item up, although most of them try. But rubber fuel line should be on a spool, and I wouldn't expect a part number would be needed to get a few feet of the stuff.

I've ran into this problem before. Not on your generator example but I believe you need 10mm lines. That is a standard size world wide. 3/8" is about 9.5 mm so I think this might solve your problem. Where to get 10mm hose try import dealers.....good luck

Check out the guys on this site, they are as in to generators and engines as we are into our trucks. I am also on this forum.
A lot of the guys are factory techs.
BTW have you checked any foreign car parts? the ready made brake and fuel lines should be metric.
Good luck..
Jim
