A properly done 49 Merc with flat black paint wheel skirts spotlights etc. Is a pretty darn nice car I knew a quadraplegic (sp?) with one and we did a rod run in it and got a lot of looks and good comments.

That darn 51 Bel Air keeps popping up in my mind!

A merc is a very cool car, BUT the ford is a totaly different body style. If you put a CTD in it. It would be in the seat next to you. The D-MAX would be a better choice. Where biulding dad a 57 chevy truck right now, it going to be hotrod (simi-gloss) black with red steelie wheels, baby moons, and rings. 350/350 with FIS and 4-wheel disc 3.73 posi-track. old skool rod is what were going for, but with a frame off restoration. We will have it up and runnin in a couple more months or less.

I was told the Duramax is roughly the same size as a big block, in which case it would fit. Then theres intercooler tubing and the exhaust goes down right off the back. Plus, its around 200-some-odd pounds heavier than the big block. Im seriously considering this...well see.

That would be a real nice setup!. The volume under the hood should fit the CTD just fine. A CR would be quiet and that car would be a real nice road burner. Cool. I wonder if you'd have to beef up the front suspension, the springs of course, but the A arms and stuff too?

Buick is just a trifle gaudy, but it would make a neat CR car!
