Cummins ISX (650 hp, 1950 TQ)with Allison

OK, who is going to be the first to drop one of these in a truck? From Motorhome magazine:

Cummins Inc. introduced a new 650–hp diesel engine for luxury motorhomes, the ISX 650, at the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association’s 45th Annual National RV Trade Show in Louisville, Kentucky, last month. The ISX 650, with 1950 lb–ft of torque, represents a new level of performance in the premium motorhome market.

The Cummins ISX delivers high performance through the use of its in–house core technologies, including Cummins advanced electronic controls, patented VG Turbo, high–pressure fuel system, combustion technology and exhaust after–treatment.

The new ISX 650 is fully integrated with the Allison 4000 MH model automatic transmission. The Allison 4000 MH model is rated up to 650 hp and 1950 lb–ft of torque.

Good luck with that, that would be a wiring nightmare, and boy that thing is heavy but it really has some power.

The ISX is a decent sized motor. It would have to ride in the back of the bed, which might max out some trucks bed capacity.

Sounds like the perfect engine of choice for a school bus I've had my eye on for a few months... however, it's just too much $$$$$ for the drivetrain.

The truck that they used for that testing up at allison could do a burnout with a fully loaded trailer without power braking it. You could just sit there and roast the tires off of the truck.
