Does anyone know where to find the 4BT engines? I think it would be an awesome motor for any project. Also, about how much do they run?(for price)

 

you can find them in bread trucks an industrial equipment
they usally run about 1000$-2000$

 

Depending on location 1-2K is very low for around here.

2500-3200 is more the norm for a complete unit with adapters, etc.

Check on Fleabay, usually several there.

 

The best selection I've seen of used diesel mills is arsco.com

 

around portland oregon there always seems to be a 4bt bread truck or two on craigslist. I've seen the running trucks from about $1500-3000.

 

they are great little engines I got mine out of a bread truck and it was in a chevy c30 chassis hooked up to a chevy 4sp so it made my swap really simple as I put it in a 86 silverado 4X4 you'll be suprised at the power they have,I got mine for $1500 and scrapped out the rest for $800 it had an alumium body,good luck
