CTD with 9' snow plows

How many out there operate with a 9' snow plow? Any issues?

I have a 9ft fisher on a 93 one ton SRW and it handles it pretty well, plenty of power to push the snow it collects. Some wieght does need to be added to the bed because having the weight of the plow on the front makes the back end a little sparse on traction, but other than that, no problems

I run a 9'2" boss Vblade weighs about 950lbs. I have had only one issue with it. My fault mostly because my road was drifted over so I decided to go through 4 miles of chiseled fields at 40mph to keep momentum up. I had to rebuild the front end after that. other than that it handles it just fine

Where in NY are you and what type of snow(water content) do you tend to get? I have never used a CTD(have with other trucks) with a 9', but I have with an 8.5'. The reason that I ask is if you get heavy snow, it will be too big of a blade to push based on the weight and traction of the truck. If it tends to be light snow, it shouldn't be an issue.

The 9' plows weigh enough that you will probably need to upgrade the springs up front and have weight in the rear.

I live in Orange County N.Y. Thats the exact reason I am asking. If the 9' is too big a plow based on wet heavier snow. I believe my area does get a mix of this white stuff. I've seen light airy snow, low moisture to heavy wet snow. The truck I'm plowing with is not yet listed in my signature. 89 CTD auto dump. Its got an 8' fisher right now.

Thanks!

Why not go with a plow that can adjust its width and works better than the Western, Meyer and Fisher plows? Blizzard 8611.
