It seems with such a long wheel base on the tractor there would be a lot more drag, klilling MPG...

But that is two jobs VERY well done. What engines is he running?

status thing...the longer you stretch it, the badder you are basically. most guys with rigs like these are for show only...these just happen to be a couple that guys actually use.

also i dont know what engine they run, but im sure they arent stock

Looks kind of stooopid to me... And really hard to steer and park, and needlessly stressing on the frame.

I would think that it would ride nicer, but I wouldn't think that's a real issue nowadays with air-ride suspensions. No practical reason behind it? Maybe having the kingpin that far back made it drive nicer?

Not my cup of tea, but people probably say the same things about springer front-ends I'm sure...

And AMC products.

I'm wondering about backing it. That seems like it would really slow steering input.

It means that you don't do in-town delivery. I can't imagine trying to negotiate city traffic with that length frame. Usually you see a condo or even a duplex on one with that length frame but they are sharp looking rigs. Nice to know that they get used and aren't just show trucks.

West Coast Haulers look good with the extra long wheelbase but can be a pain to backup in tight quarters. It's bad enough trying to backup a conventional cab/sleeper on a standard length wheelbase with a 40' trailer.

That's a good lookin rig!! I know the show was kinda corny, but did anyone watch CMT's Trick My Truck series? They had a couple pretty clean rigs too. I like their mob sled(shop truck). New series is coming out end of this month I believe. We've seen their Western Hauler loaner truck close by, so hopefully we'll see one of the trucks around here.

Hey, easy on the AMCs. My Gremlin was boss. Yea, a head wind could stop it in its tracks but man was it slow. Once I got the water leaks stopped it ran good. Yes it pulled badly to the left but for a rig with 6 HP what do you expect.

Still regret selling it but then I don't blame the buyer for sueing me 'cause it quit running when he turned on the radio.
