converting 24volt Chevy 6.2 to 12 volt
I just bought an 86 k30, military m1008 with a 6.2. I know these trucks are 24 volt under the hood, and 12 volt to the rest, but cant really find much info about converting the whole system to 12volt. I dont want to be stranded needing a jump start somewhere, etc. Anyone have experience converting one?
Congratulations on your M1008, they are a good rugged truck. I have the blazer version.
Most people don't do the conversion to 12v because it isn't really necessary. I think if you look closely, the truck is 12v, the 24v is there to run the military stuff that needs 24v.
