if you're on a really low budget, go with the square tube crossover... you could probably build a set of stacks for a couple hundred bucks that way.

do a search on stacks. on a recent post, I posted the best source for Y pipes and elbows. get the stacks on ebay. a pair of 36" stacks is ~$75. just about anything else is ~$100. they're 5" diameter. if you want 6", you're gonna have to pay about three times as much.

I Need Stacks

HELP ME!!! I need a set of stacks for a low price, any suggestions. I found a set on ebay for 105, looked pretty darn nice. The stacks are 60'' in length and 5'' in diameter. Thanks

This depends on a few things,,,,,
How big is the trucker?
How fast can he run?
Most Important: How good is his aim? (This should be considered before pondering the first two questions!)

With tighter "NO IDLING" rules, it would be pretty tough to remove them without being heard. Every trucker sleeping near by could help you with the swiss cheese impression!

More serious, though .. The local Big Rig boneyard sells used chrome stacks (many with the big mufflers still on them!) for ~$45 bucks. I like the square tube ideas, but am trying to design one with a splitter welded in like on the y fittings.

Open up the middle of the tube on the top and weld a divider on the piece you cut off the top and weld it back in and grind it smoooothe and you got your divider!!

You really only need on thread on the subject.

Took the liberty of merging them all together for you,
now all the answers will be in one place.

look in the TRUCKIN magazine and you will find a complete system for about $700 that seems a little high, i think you can do it yourself for cheeper.

www.berubes.com

The 48's were $78 a piece and the splitter was like $50 or something. The rest of the stuff is just off the shelf NAPA parts. Buy them a few pieces at a time and do it right.

I know you've seen these before. There is about $400 or so in that set up.
