CNN -Diesel Isn't Dirty Anymore

Interesting article on CNN.com
Diesel Isn't Dirty Anymore

Snippet:
The Cummins 6.7-liter Turbodiesel engine also delivers better fuel economy when compared to equivalent gasoline engines, says Chrysler. And earlier this year, at the Washington Auto Show, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, together with the Department of Energy, tapped the new 2007 Dodge Ram Heavy Duty as the cleanest mass-production diesel-engine pickup truck on the market.

On the one hand good main-stream publicity is great, but really now everyone is going to want one now. I'm scared with them slowly becoming a new generation of ricers, which how easy it is to mod them. There is a difference between what I'd define a vehicle (truck or not) as a muscle car versus a ricer, and so far in my area the ricer diesels are winning. :/

When the 6.0 PSD came out in 2003 Cali listed it as an ULEV ( Ultra-Low Emissions Vehicle). I know let the Ford bashing begin. Keith

If you come to my town there are plenty of the "ricers" driving around blowing smoke everywhere.
