Buying diesel in DFW area (Grapevine)

Anybody in the north central Dallas/Ft Worth area have a favorite place to buy diesel? I suppose a truck stop would be the cheapest but I don't think there are any in the Grapevine Texas area.

Since we're on the subject, what is everyone paying out there per gallon (late Dec 2003)?

Anybody joined a co-op and had a 500 gallon tank installed at their house with the diesel delivered? If so, what are you paying for that service?

Thanks!

I'm down the road in Killeen (FT Hood area) and it's either $1.48 or drive down to Harker Heights (10 miles) and i'ts $138 a gallon....

Be careful about having a tank installed, usually this only applies to farm use-grade diesel...and i'ts red in color , and intended for use in farm products. If you get caught with it in your 0n-road vehicle you can get a fine. You can run it in your but may cause it to smoke and you'll have to change the fuel filter more often, if not run a double-fuel filter setup.

Up here, after all the conversions (61 cents a liter), we're paying around 1.73 a gallon. Bleh!

It's been a while since I lived there but on 20 between arlington and Grand Praire there are a couple of competeing truck stops that generally kept the prices lower .

The loves and QT on south I35 in Ft Worth $1.39. Midlothian on Tuesday $1.43 I think the pilot on North I35 is about the same.

Hey Handymantim....being in pretty much the EXACT same area as you (live in Lewisville and work at DFW Airport), I have many times wondered the same thing. Unfortunately, there aren't any truck stops near us that I have found. I usually fill up at the Shell Station on 3040 in Flower Mound right at the Lewisville / Flower Mound city limits. They seem to have pretty good fuel and the last time I filled up there it was $1.43 / gal. When I can I always try to fill up at a truck stop, but that usually only occurs when I'm traveling since we don't seem to have any around here.

If you find a good place let me know.

FYI, the Texaco at Grapevine Mills Pkwy and 2499 sells diesel but they are unbelievably high.

On US75, between Dallas and Ok border, diesel just went up. At the Loves in Melissa it went up 4 cents to $1.48, and in Van Alstyne, it went up 8 cents at the Mobil, to $1.49. All this in about 3 days. At these places, sometimes the prices here go up and down nearly every day. I guess it's cecause of their volumn and the price they pay for it.
History here shows that the colder it is up north, the higher diesel is down here. According to Texaco and Mobil a couple of years ago, diesel uses the same crude as home heating oil, and home heating has priority. I don't like it, but I can understand that. If I lived up there, I'd have to have a LOT of heating oil!

Most of the truck stops are off the main interstates. I'm paying $1.48 for diesel out here in Rockwall at the Loves truck stop.

Seems thats the going rate for diesel in the DFW area unless you buy from a corner gas station.

Right down the street its $1.76 and if I go a little farther I may be able to get it for about $1.63-$166. If I go even a little farther I think I can get it for $1.60 but thats the best around here. At least thats what it was when I went last but I haven't been there in a while so I'm stuck with the higher prices. Even in the summer I think the lowest I have seen it was $1.56.....Good Ole NY Taxes

When traveling I've noticed some stops have the price listed, then say "exempt". Typically the prices are quite low, so I'm guessing it's some sort of tax status?

Anyone know for sure what does that mean?
