Bottle upgrade?
Bottle upgrade?
Is there a better way to catch the oil blow by than that little plastic bottle on the front of the block? Mine just keeps turning upside down and grinding into the balancer. Makes a HUGE mess too.

It removes the puke bottle...
It vents crankcase gasses under the truck away from the air intake of the cab and windows...I always hated that foul diesel oil smell after a oil change... No longer got that problem.
It keeps engine oil from runing out on steep down hill grades (4x4 country). That is the reason for the route over the top of the engine. As the nose of the truck goes down the end of the tube will go up and keeping it highier than the engine. So you will no longer lose oil on steep grades.
I will not use a rubber hose for this because in time the rubber will break down and collapse shut cause seal problems on the engine. PVC pipe will with stand the oil and engine vapors.
Exit point of the tube under the truck
The way it hooks up
One small note: You mentioned that rubber would break down. PVC pipe is only rated at something like 73 degrees. If you used CPVC it would last longer because it is rated for hot water.
