Blame coronavirus for this one...
Being cooped up and away from public activity, causes strange, previously unimagined ideas to spring forth from an idle mind like mine...Therefore you can all blame the coronavirus panic for this boneheaded notion I've been pondering...I like hearing the whistle from an unsilenced turbocharger, but I also prefer the clean, dust-free air from my stock Dodge air filter which naturally muffles the whistle...So I wondered, is it possible to live in both worlds?...Has anyone ever tried placing a small microphone in the intake passage between the air filter and the turbo inlet, then sending the signal through a volume controlled amplifier to some device such as a PA horn mounted under the hood?...The mike would probably have to be buffeted by a foam rubber device of some sort to prevent the annoying wind noise you sometimes hear on outdoor broadcasts...I wonder what sort of mike would be most suitable since it would need to be small enough not to impede airflow...Would it need to be enclosed in its own chamber just out of the airway in the intake tube, yet still open to the airway?...

You could also use a small hose teed into the inlet, leading to a can with a membrane inside the vehicle. Like a mix between a tincan telephone and a stethoscope- would not need electrical stuff and can/tin/moonphase compatibility with the truck's electronics.
You could move the steering wheel and seat to under the hood with a back up camera facing forward (I know this is way out of the box!) and then have a small camera mounted where the old seat was to watch your gauges....just a thought.

Create yourself a moderate boost leak. Lots of noise... takes longer to spool so you get to really experience it.
Some putz in a Superduty with a boost leak drives past my house 4+ times per day.
I'm kind of tired of it... prob sounds better with mechanical 6.
