1.79 for the fuel, around .40 in taxes and they were going to charge $20.00 for the barrels but we negotiated on that and I ended up buying 2 barrels worth of fuel and getting the barrels free.

One note, when I was up there filling up I hadn't figured out for sure how I was going to get the barrels out. They told me that the guys up there at farms that didn't have loading docks laid them on their side and rolled them out the back onto old tires

Sure does smell different!

So, it seems that some start to use the bio stuff. GREAT!
I've been running various mixtures from B2 to B100 through my truck. Never had any problems due to the bio, just one vendor who wasn't that good on QC... (Dirty stuff, but had this on dino diesel too)
So, support farmers and blow soybean soot on the treehuggers

Well, the engine didn't fall out of the truck so all is well so far. Truck pulled fine. Don't have any mileage numbers yet as I haven't filled back up yet. Truck is a bit quieter and seems (to me) to be running much smoother. Will be driving the ford tomorrow and have big hopes that it will be smoother and quieter as well.

ALSO, got to (finally!) quiet down my sister-in-law. She thinks she is a big greenie. She made one of her usual snide comments about how wasteful we are driving such big trucks. Turns out I get almost as good mileage (on the highway) as her worn out piece of crap taurus. Then I asked her how much of the fuel she burned was from renewable resources. She turned so red I had her husband snorting coca-cola up through his nose. Said if that was what it took to shut her up he was buying a diesel tomorrow.

I'm counting the days till Friday the 16th when I go through Raleigh I can fill up and a few cans. then I'll back through on the 20th and top it off. Dang I wish we'd get a bio pump around Charlotte.
I am looking at an old military tank on a trailer. might hold about 200 gallons or so. I just have to find out what it was used to hold before and how clean it is inside. that will probably put that idea to rest

rob, as long as its not rusted inside, any sludge etc in there will very quickly be cleaned out with some b100...You could dump a few gallons in there to settle/slosh etc and drain...it's a very very strong solvent...

B plus the number is the percentage of bio compared to dino diesel. B20 contains 20% biodiesel and is what you should run in your truck to get started. Lots of places have premixed b20 pumps, and some sell b100 bulk. Whichever way is more convienient for you is the way to go - mixing in your garage with 5 gal containers or 55 gal drums, or driving by... Go for it you'll love it

OH I didn't realize you were near PA, I know a guy that fills there regularly with their bio for the last year or two. Apparently it's great stuff.

Well, I am very happy with the bio I have been running. I don't have any hard data to back it up but the truck really feels like it runs much smoother and is a bit quieter. Pulled hard with it this past weekend and it did great. Don't know if this makes sense but it also seemed like egt was down a bit.

Talked to the distributor today to let him know I would be back in a couple of weeks for another drum. He told me the price had gone up .46 per gallon since last week. Kind of a downer but not suprising. I think the price will probably climb a bit more as popularity rises. Then when production and distribution catch up I think it will start dropping.

Running about a b-20 mix in the dodge now. The ford is up to a b-10 and I haven't noticed much difference yet. I figure in about 3 more tanks it will be ready for a filter change and b-20. Hopefully I will notice it smooth out a bit as well.

Smell is a lot better too. Closest I will probably get to french fries until I get skinny again or the wife gives up on the diet.
